Epiphone Korina Flying V MIK Unsung Korea w upgrades
Epiphone Korina Flying V MIK Unsung Korea w upgrades. In great condition! A few marks but nothing major. Has some weird black marking near the strap button which you can really see. I only noticed it when I was taking photos.
This is a hard one for me to let go as I bought it thinking I’d feel like Albert King but I don’t think that’ll ever happen 😂. Played on one gig last week and realised it wasn’t for me.
A really cool guitar that has some great features added by the previous owner. I installed a new set of Elixir 10s and polished the frets and cleaned and oiled the fretboard. Looks absolutely stunning.
Here is what the previous owner had to say about it!
“Epiphone Korina Flying V - Unsung Korea/Kluson tuners/Kent Armstrong PAFs
I purchased this guitar from the previous owner who bought new from Back Alley Music in Chester twenty five years ago. The guitar was made in the Unsung factory in Korea in 2000.
The guitar is super light, with great resonance and presence. The previous owner (guitar tech) installed vintage-correct Kluson tuners and replaced the original high output pickups with PAF style Kent Armstrong Sky humbuckers. Both pickups are series-parallel switchable by pulling up on the two volume controls, which gives a brighter, less hot sound, whilst still hum cancelling. The tone control is a varitone type, which uses 11 different capacitor values, plus a bypass setting for full treble bypass. This type of tone control allows for very pure and varied overdrive and distortion tones, including the famous Clapton 'woman tone'.
Fretwork is immaculate.
There are just one or two very small dings, so nothing major at all.
The input jack and pickup selector switch are both US made Switchcraft. Schaller straplocks, strap and padded Gator gig bag are included. The top nut is made of bone.“
Thanks for looking!
